ASPEN | MOUNTAIN HOUSE
Encircled by the sunrise over Independence Pass, sweeping views of Ajax, Highlands and Buttermilk Mountain, all capped by a down valley sunset, the Residence resides at the center of the experience that is Aspen. The architecture draws from a vocabulary of rugged yet refined masonry that is crowned by a upper level of wood screening, inspired by the delicate filigree of surrounding Aspen trees, that allows for dappled light to register at the interior of the house throughout the day. Large expanses of glass and strategically placed operable doors connect the town and mountain view to a protected courtyard entry for a truly seamless connection with nature.
