Jason Ro

Principal | AIA

Jason was born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Seoul, Korea. He studied at the University of Pennsylvania, the Wharton School of Business and received his Master of Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Jason has practiced with Weiss/Manfredi Architects, and Rogers Marvel Architects in New York City, and Koning Eizenberg Architecture in Los Angeles. In 2011 Jason co-founded RO | ROCKETT DESIGN. Jason is a registered architect with licenses in California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New York and Utah.

Zac Rockett

Principal | AIA

Zac was born in Texas and raised in the wilds of Oklahoma. He calmed down when he moved to Chicago, Illinois. He studied at Miami University and received his Master of Architecture with Distinction from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Zac has practiced with Renzo Piano Building Workshop in Genoa, Italy and Aidlin Darling Design in San Francisco. In 2011 Zac co-founded RO | ROCKETT DESIGN. Zac is a registered architect with licenses in California, Nevada and Idaho.

Azat Bikmullin

Designer

Raised in Russia, Azat’s academic background includes Moscow and London, prior to attaining his Master of Architecture at Washington University in St. Louis. Passionate about architecture’s ability to uplift people and places, he is pursuing his architecture license as the next step in his professional path. Azat also enjoys spending his free time playing pickleball and reading a good book.

Morgan Brown

Designer

Morgan was born on the East Coast but raised in the Great Plains, where he received his Master of Architecture at Kansas State University. Morgan came to RO | ROCKETT DESIGN with experience at architecture firms in the Midwest and New York City. Outside of the office, you can find him seeking adventure through skiing and hiking mountains with his dog.

Alex Burdett

Designer

Alex Burdett was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture from the University of Houston, after which she worked at a small firm focused primarily on the renovation of historic bungalows and Queen Anne homes in the area. She then earned her Master of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin, during which she interned at Mark Odom Studio in Austin, Texas and at Worrell Yeung in Brooklyn, New York. Outside of architecture, she can often be found hiking or running on nearby trails.

Trevor Carrasco

Designer

Trevor Carrasco was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, and now calls the Roaring Fork Valley home. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Colorado Denver and later earned his Master of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining the firm, Trevor worked in Denver on projects ranging from high-end commercial office buildings to large-scale workplace and recreation developments throughout Colorado and the Rocky Mountains. He is interested in creating architecture that is both unique and deeply rooted in its site, landscape, and architectural context. Outside the office, Trevor enjoys skiing, traveling, and attending concerts and music festivals.

Junfu Cui

Designer

Junfu was born and raised in Beijing. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology and his Master of Architecture from Cornell University. Prior to joining RO | ROCKETT DESIGN, he interned at Kwong Von Glinow and Diller Scofidio + Renfro, and later worked at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in Chicago. He also enjoys film photography and shoegaze music.

Dania Ghuneim

Architect

Dania was born and raised in Kuwait, moving to the United States to earn a Bachelor of Arts from UCLA. Prior to joining RO | ROCKETT DESIGN, she worked through various internships in architecture and development while completing a Master of Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design.

Nick Kunkle

Associate | Architect

Nick was born in St. Louis, Missouri and raised in Illinois. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago and his Master of Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to joining RO | ROCKETT DESIGN, Nick worked at a small, interdisciplinary studio focused on residential projects, furniture for Herman Miller, and the Modern by Dwell product collections for Target. He is a registered Architect in California. When he is not occupied by his creative pursuits, Nick enjoys exploring the beaches of Northern California with his wife and dog.

Hilary Lemus

Associate

Hilary grew up in the Twin Cities in Minnesota where she received her Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Minnesota. After working in Minneapolis primarily on residential projects, she continued her education at the University of Oregon where she received her Master of Architecture. She then moved to Los Angeles and practiced with Richard Meier & Partners Architects.

David Regina

Designer

David was born and raised in the Bay Area and today calls San Francisco home. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Architecture from UC Berkeley and, prior to joining RO | ROCKETT DESIGN, worked on projects spanning high-end commercial office buildings to high-end residential design across California and the Pacific Northwest. David is currently pursuing licensure in California. Outside the studio, you'll find him on the golf course or exploring the outdoors.

Ryan Reyes

Designer

Ryan is an architectural designer born and raised in El Paso, TX. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from Texas Tech University and recently his Master of Architecture from Yale University. Ryan is dedicated to creating meaningful homes that celebrate the craft of architecture. Outside of the office he enjoys mountain biking, traveling and writing.

Sean Satterfield

Associate | Architect | AIA

Sean calls Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley home, where you can find him exploring the surrounding mountains on either a bike or skis, with kids in tow or solo. After graduating from the Pennsylvania State University, Sean has spent the better part of 15 years working with design firms in both Chicago and Aspen on a broad range of project typologies. He is a registered architect with licenses in Colorado and Illinois.

Linda Shin

Associate | Architect

Linda was born in Illinois and grew up in New Jersey. She received a Bachelor of Arts at Wellesley College and began her career working on hospitality and restaurant projects at Andre Kikoski Architect in New York. She moved to Los Angeles and received her Master of Architecture at SCI-Arc. Prior to joining RO | ROCKETT DESIGN, Linda worked at Shubin Donaldson and Marmol Radziner in Los Angeles. Her project experience focused mostly on high end residential and restaurant work. Linda is a licensed Architect in California.

Ariana Tanabe

Studio Manager

Originally from San Diego, Ariana went on to receive a BA in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Cruz. From there, she migrated to Portland, Oregon where she managed a growing retail nursery. Following a strong calling to return to California, her spare time now consists of tending to her personal plant collection, visiting gardens, and making jewelry in her home city of Los Angeles.

Treya Yano

Designer

Treya grew up on her family’s farm in Eastern Oregon. She left Oregon to study architecture in California where she received her Bachelor of Architecture and Minor in Sustainable Environments from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Prior to joining RO | ROCKETT DESIGN, she worked for several architecture firms in Idaho with experience ranging from commercial to large industrial projects. When she’s not in the office you can find her roller skating by the beach or exploring the city of LA.

Culture

We are a collaborative practice in the truest sense; ideas move freely between disciplines, studios, and roles. The best thinking here rarely happens at a desk. It comes in from a hike, a road trip, a piece of furniture someone made by hand, a building visited on a detour. We hire people who have lives outside this work and bring those lives into it.

What holds us together isn't a design style but a shared standard of care. We are rigorous about the things that matter: proportion, detail, the integrity of an idea carried all the way through. Everything else we leave room for.

Intermediate Designer /Architect [5+ years experience]

Our studios live in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Aspen, however they function as one, thinking and producing interactively and seamlessly in real-time on all projects.

Job Requirements: The optimal candidate has 5+ years of architectural design and documentation experience, with 2+ years at a single place of employment. Responsibilities will include: Research & Design, Presentation Material, Documentation & Detailing, 3D-Modelling, Physical Modeling, Coordination w/ internal team and consultants.

The optimal candidate will also possess the following:

Strong, confident design talent
A professional Degree (B.Arch or M.Arch)
Be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and cooperatively within the team setting of a small office environment
Meticulous drawing and modelling skills (3D & Physical)
Strong verbal, written and graphic communication skills
Excellent organizational skills with a positive, diligent work ethic
SD-CD level project experience in REVIT, Sketchup, Rhino
Rendering experience using Enscape
High-end residential design experience

Location: All locations; Los Angeles (Inglewood), CA; San Francisco (Sausalito), CA; and Aspen, CO. This is an in-person position.

Senior Architect / Designer [8-10 years experience)

Our studios live in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Aspen, however they function as one, thinking and producing interactively and seamlessly in real-time on all projects.

Job Requirements: The optimal candidate has 8-10 years of architectural design and documentation experience, with 4-5 years at current place of employment. Candidates should have strong project & design experience at all project phases. Contract administration and Contract Document experience is a requirement, preferably in high end residential or institutional. Responsibilities will include: Research & Design, Documentation & Detailing, 3D-Modelling, Physical Modelling, Project management, Coordination w/ internal team, consultants, contractor and client.

The optimal candidate will also possess the following:
